AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE CAN HELP YOU RESPOND TO STRESS.

Stress is your biggest health Risk!
It actually suppresses the immune system from doing it’s job.

Stress reduces the number of natural killer cells or lymphocytes in the body, which are needed to fight viruses”, according to the American Psychological Association.

Stress is our bodies natural reflex system to fight or flight.  Stress triggers the release of oxygen and glucose, which send emergency energy to the brain and muscles. This is called the “fight or flight” response because it prepares the body to fight or run.(http://www.humanillnesses.com/original/Se-Sy/Stress-Related-Illness.html#ixzz75iVv2LR0

Even God rested!

And on the seventh day God “He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done” Genesis 2:2 Your body is not designed to be in flight mode 24/7.

King David provides three simple principles for “Restoring your soul.” In Psalms 23: They include:

  1. Rest= freedom from activity or labor, peace of mind or spirit.  This is why it is so important to have Self-Awareness, so you know when it’s time to give your body, mind and spirit Rest.
  2. Reflection= the return of light or sound waves from a surface, a thought, idea, or opinion formed, or a remark made as a result of meditation.
  3. Replenishment. = to fill or build up again, you are not an Island. It’s just as important for you to replenish your soul and spirit so you can be more productive and make better decisions under stress without jumping ahead this is called Discernment (a critical thinking skill)

By learning to reflect on God our creator we find the beautiful passion and love that He cares for us, provides for us and guides us, just like King David and King Solomon did.

In order to live with less stress and have more Joy in your life. Follow the advice from King David and King Solomon, Restore your Soul by being in the presence of God.
